A half wasted life

A half wasted life

Most 0f my life I've wasted on drugs and alcohol . I've been in and out of jails and prisons due to my use and due to the being on drugs and alcohol when I committed a crime to pay for what I was using . Now that I've quit using and am finally trying to start and build a new life and future for myself it is quite difficult for me to even find a job , which is quite depressing at times . still I did that to myself and only have myself to blame . Things will get better eventually , I thank the Lord above that I am clean and sober now . I attend church and go to AA once a week . I see a parole officer once every two weeks and a councelor every week and attend a substance abuse group once a week . Sometimes I have an urge to drink but when I do I stop for amoment and ask myself is risking my freedom and what I have now worth it and my answer is no . I love myself now and I love the person I am becoming . Nothing in the world is worth spending another moment in prison for me . This is my last chance . I am not a kid any more I'm 53 and I am daily living with a new and better me . Myadvice to everyone is that before you use again . Spend some time with yourself , remember what you've lost is using really worth going back to hell ? Talk to a friend , go to a substance abuse councelor , call your sponsor , remember the world thinks you will fail but your the one that decides whether you will or not .
