My Freedom from Addiction

My Freedom from Addiction

I was a clubbie in the first discos in NYC and dabbled in cocaine for years. But when I started cooking and smoking cocaine I was hooked. I was a functioning addict because I worked. But I became homeless at one point because I couldn't afford to pay my rent. I smoked that stuff for 14 years and when I turned 57 I thought it was a ridiculous thing for me to do at my age. So I prayed to God to help me quit because I was helpless. As it turned out I developed COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) and ended up in the hospital for 8 days. There they gave me nicotine patches because there was no smoking. Thankfully that was the beginning of the end of my drugging days. I had to use oxygen 24/7 and now 11 years later I am very happy to be alive and smoke-free from everything. I've been on oxygen 24/7 for 10 years and it's not just from the coke. It's also from SICKarettes. I hope by reading a bit of my story, it will help people stop smoking them too.
