My struggles and recovery

Im 24 years old and have been clean and sober for coming up on 3 and a half years. i started using at a really young age and one drug led to the next and so on.. heroin and pain pills brought me to my knees and stripped me of everything i had. it took family, friends, money, school, jobs and most importantly my self worth. After years of fighting and trying re habs and meetings i was finally ready to surrender. i checked into rehab when i was 21 years old and then moved into a 3/4 house and lived there for 14 months. It was the best decision of my life. Throughtout my recovery i have gained back all that i have lost and much, much more. I am engaged to the love of my life who is also in recovery and we have a beautiful 13 month old son who gives my life purpose. My life is so incredible today and i would never trade it for anything in this world.

I know her struggles of this story.......as she is my AMAZING daughter!!! I am so proud of her courage to turn her life around, as I know it was not an easy journey. She did what she needed to do to stay clean, and as she said, her life is so incredible now with many blessings! May her story be hope and encouragement for others struggling with addiction and their families who love them.
