Sober and Soaring

Sober and Soaring

My battle was won by the Grace of God. No treatment center in the nation, and I tried more than a few of them, was able to touch my addiction until I surrendered it ALL to The Lord. It was only then that I was able to clearly see through the fog and recognize what it was exactly that would keep me clean and sober. It was only then? that treatment had the ability to teach me the skills and tools that sober life required. Relapse is NOT an option for me, it is the difference between life and death. Using = Dying!

October 2012 was my two year sober birthday and wow what an enlightening two years it has been. Being sober has not only allowed me to reconnect with my family but also with myself. Today I am intouch with my self and trust my judgement. I have my power back, I know where I never want to be again, I know how I never want to feel again and today I know I don't have to.

You are an inspiration to others and I am so glad you found the way to regain your life. It takes a lot of strength and courage to do what you have done; plus you knew to reach out for the right kind of help. It must be great to feel reconnected to our family... I wish you good luck and God speed as well as personal courage to face the struggles of life without succumbing to those draining, destroying substances... Happy 2 1/3 yr anniversary!!!
