Started Young

I started at 11 with just weed. It soon escalated to pills. Shortly after that I started to do cocaine and meth. I was gaunt and sickly. My mother passed away before she could see me get better. My brother, sister, and I were left orphans. I needed to change. For them, not me. I didn't care what happened to me but I cared so much about my siblings. I went to rehab twice before I really stayed on the wagon. I got to NA meetings twice a week and help talk to younger kids about staying drug free. It takes lots of time to recover but you CAN do it! Perseverance is key!

This Story of Hope was created in celebration of recovery and to let families know that there are pathways to hope and healing. The Partnership for Drug-Free Kids is the only nonprofit organization dedicated to helping families who are struggling with their son or daughter's substance use. Please consider sharing this page so that families know where to turn to for help, and that there is always hope.
