"I no longer NEED the drugs.? I am free."



Hey guys. ?I'm Allie, I am a recovering ?and cocaine addict, depressive with suicide attempts, a history of cutting as well as anorexia. In freshman year I made some questionable friends, but I don't blame them for my decisions with drugs. ?I led them to believe that I had more experience with drugs than I actually did. ?I then made connections through them to get cheap drugs like Xanax and cocaine. ?It got to such a point that I couldn't even get out of bed in the morning without doing a line of coke and I couldn't sit through the SAT's without starting withdrawals. ?I actually had to run to the bathroom and was throwing up blood. ?It was probably the worst experience I've ever experienced. ?I also almost got send to a new school called Gateway. ?This school is supposed to be a second chance but it's really just for a bunch of druggies and everyone knows it. ?I was about ready to accept that I was going to end up in this school when my school principal had a serious talk with me. ?He told me about how he was a druggie too in highschool, but got himself cleaned up. ?I didn't really believe him, but I was always exhausted from the drugs. ?I wanted to feel independent again, so I took him up on his offer to send me to rehab and if I did well then he would allow me back in school. ?It was so difficult, but I was doing so well he let me back. ?I'm still in rehab, making a slow, but steady recovery, and I am appreciative everyday for the faith people put in me. ?I would like to someday turn around and put that faith into someone else, even if it's just one person. ?I want someone to feel loved and trusted as I feel now. ?I no longer NEED the drugs. ?I am free.?
