The Day My Prayers Came True...

As a child I was brought up in a alcoholic family, both my mother and father drank day after day, my father got very abusive to my mother (verbally and physically). When I was 17 they divorced and by 18 I was living with a man who bartended for a living which kept me all the more in a bar. I continued to drink through the years, got 2 dui's (20 years ) apart from each other, went through 2 divorces, partially due to drinking. I started drinking every day immediately after work to help stop the shakes, on weekends after noon at times. For years I was in denile that I had any kind of problem with drinking, Finally after I turned 40 (aug. 26th) I knew I had to do something, I was so misserable with myself inside, I had thoughts of suicide, I knew right then I needed to do something, I had a young daughter that I knew needed her mother. On Sept. 7 2000 after a normal day of drinking I laid in bed that night crying and prayed to god over and over to help me sober up. That is when I believe my guardian angel saved me. When laying in bed l opened my eyes and there up above me was this white image, and minutes later I got out of bed and started calling treatment centers in the area, after calling several of them, I finally landed on one that had room for me. So I told my husband at that time that I wanted to go there for treatment. Knowing that was going to be my last day of drinking, I drank enough to really intoxicate me! I was admitted to a rehabilitation center in a clinic about 45 minutes from where Iived. I had 10 days of rehibilation and I knew I wanted so hard to stay sober so I gave it all I had in participating in every program there. After I got done with treatment and went home, I ended up going through a very stressful divorce and stayed at a crisis center till I could get back on my feet emtionally and finacially. Through the years, I stayed away from any drinking establishments and went to AA regularly, here I am almost 13 years later still sober!! To this day I truely believe god sent an angel to help me to get where I am now. I Love My Sober Life!!!!!!!!!
