My Story

"My name is Denise and I'm an addict"...well, just this week I celebrated 4 years of being clean and free from rampant prescription painkiller abuse. I could have died so many times from OD's and whatnot, but today I am soooooo grateful to be free from the clutches of addiction. I did it without following any 12 step program. Never give up on yourself and whatever works for one person may not work for another. Keep trying. I began the downward spiral when my mother was dying; continued to spiral down after she passed, but to make a long story short I was able to shake the disease and made my Dad (and myself!) proud (was able to make amends with him) I am glad my Dad saw me clean and happy before he also passed. If I could do it, anyone can. Like I said, NEVER give up!
