We Do Recover

Hi my name is Pamela and I am so grateful to be celebrating 17 years clean. I found recovery August 14, 1996 and as a result of building a good foundation in Narcotics Anonymous and recreating a desire to live again I have truly found a life worth living. I gave up everything in active addiction. I existed to use and used to exist. I didn't know how to live or how to die. I thank God that I was able to go to treatment for 3 weeks, a halfway house for 3 months and then a 3/4 house for six months. I now have a 35 bed transitional living facility in St. Petersburg, Florida for addicts new in recovery. You see, it was my turn to give back to society. It's a beautiful thing. I share the message of hope and freedom. I have been to world conventions in 3 major cities in the United States. The last was in September 2013, where this picture was taken. One of my goals is to speak at the world convention in Rio, Brazil in 2015. You see any addict can lose the desire to use and dreams do awaken when we surrender to the issidius disease of addiction. If an ole dope fiend like me was able to do this, you can too. God Bless.
