My Brother

My Brother

Hi guys, My name is Jessica and i am currently helping my brother Stephen through recovery. My brother is the one all the way to the left in the picture and you can tell he is messed up just by looking at him.

He's 22 years old and he's been messed up on pills and alcohol since he was in high school, it got the worst at age 21. He got diagnosed with Shingles at age 21 and was put on pain pills which he was soon addicted to, by the time he was done with the prescription he had, he was hooked on BCC's or "skittles". He was also doing marijuana, shrooms & acid. He wasn't my brother.

He reached his lowest point about a month ago when he overdosed on my dad's xanex. He took 22 xanax in 2 days and we had to take him to the hospital, along with that, a week before we took him to the hospital he crashed my pappy's truck, my pappy died 3 years ago and the truck was the only thing we had left of him. The truck is currently at a junk yard now. But when he was in the hospital, we were hoping they would put him in Tuckers since he was in for overdosing but Tuckers said he didn't "meet the criteria" to be put in. Fortunately, going to the hospital brought some light to him, he's starting to get better. He's slipped up a few times but?he's on a better track...?I just hope he stays there.

Yes, I agree that we all need to talk over everything that goes on. It is so true that so many parents will condemn their children if they get word that there are drugs in the house. Or drugs and alcohol are being used. Many situations and many house holds will not talk about anything like this; "Oh Not My Kids". Well folks it's happening everywhere. I have a new idea that could help our school or just the public in general but have no idea how to get it kicked off. If there is anyone that could help me start a new program called "Signs of Addiction", I really need help, please I have a huge part of it laidd out already in newsletter form and a lot of it is from my own life. Looking for help. Thanks. (208-0835) ddes4@roadrunner.com

Great job being by your brother's side when he needs you most! I wish you luck. He can do it!
