Delaney and I are training to run the NYC marathon to raise money for Partnership to End Addiction, a charity organization whose mission is important to us.  Substance use and addiction affects more than 20 million Americans, yet it is often a silent struggle, mired by stigma.  Addiction does not discriminate – it hits people from all walks of life.    The road to recovery can be long and hard, which Delaney and I will keep in mind with each of the 26 miles we run, especially in those hard miles at the end.
