I chose Partnerships to End Addiction to remember my family and close ones lost and battling addiction issues. My family has been challenged by the impacts of addiction losing integral parts of us. I will be running in memory of:

Johnny Sampson who was a little brother, big cousin, nephew and proud uncle who’s bright smile and strength of character continues to be remembered by those who knew him no matter how much time has passed.

Frankie Brennan who showed me the importance of being patient, the impact of showing up and having a positive attitude through each hardship we face.
February 2026 marked 10 years since Frankie passed away at 26 years old and a marathon is 26.2 miles. Frankie was very open about his fight with addiction, working with mentors, rehabilitation facilities and sharing his battles with others.

TJ Brennan who was a loving older brother and cousin with huge a heart for his family. TJ helped complete what it meant to be a Hanlon cousin and is cherished by his friends and family who love and miss him.

While losing my family to addiction has brought grief and quiet toughness, loving them, learning from, growing from and being loved by them is something I will always carry with gratitude. It’s something will carry me though every mile up to and through the marathon.

While I run in memoriam of those lost, I also run in recognition of those close to me who continue to be impacted by addiction, for those carry on their memories, and those who continue to fight against their hardest moments.
