Many of you may know that I love to run, but what you may not know is that I lost my brother, Dennis Briles, to a drug overdose last summer (June 29, 2024). He struggled with addiction for over 25 years, and I wish he could have received help sooner. I miss him every day.
This year I’m running for Partnership to End Addiction at the 2025 NYC Marathon to not only raise money for this charitable organization, but also to let others know they aren’t alone and there are organizations that can help. I’ve often felt embarrassed about my brother’s addiction, and organizations like this help not only those with addiction problems, but also the friends and family members of those struggling.
