Running to end addiction!!
Mae Taul
Hi everyone!
I am running the NYC Marathon again this year, and I couldn't be more excited! I ran it last year, and it was truly one of the best days of my life. As soon as it was over, I knew I wanted to do it again! I am so excited that this year I get to run while supporting an organization that means a lot to me.
This year, I am partnering with the Partnership to End Addiction. They work to help families, professionals, and communities prevent and address substance use among teens and young adults by providing resources, support, and education.
This cause is especially important to me because I lost my aunt, KaKa, about three years ago to a drug overdose. She was one of my favorite people in the world, and losing her in such a devastating way impacted me deeply. Watching someone you love struggle with addiction and seeing the pain it causes for an entire family is something I don't want anyone else to experience.
This year, I want to keep my "why" at the front of my mind through the hard training runs, the fundraising process, the excitement of race weekend in New York, and the relief and joy of crossing the finish line. Supporting this organization is bigger than just running a marathon, and I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the work they are doing.
Supporting me and this organization in any way would mean SO much to me. Whether through a donation, sharing this page, or cheering me on, I am very thankful! Every donation and every encouraging word helps! You can donate through this page or Venmo me @maetaul and I will make sure it gets to the right place!
SEE YALL IN NYC on NOVEMBER 1ST YAYAYAY ❤️🏃♀️🗽
