In memory of Ronnie Scroggins

Ronnie Scroggins

My 15 year old son was my only child. He was in a car with a bunch of teenagers. The driver admitted to drinking several beers before getting behind the wheel of her car and driving her and 6 other teenagers into a river. My son along with another teenager died in the accident.
There are no words or expressions that can explain the effects of this irresponsible event. My heart aches tremendously everyday just to hear his voice again. I miss those everyday hugs and those special words, at the end of our conversations - "love you mom".
My son had big plans for several years to attend college and be someone important in the world. My son was very special, because I was unable to have children, so I adopted him and he came into my home when he was only 3 days old. We shared a bond that no one could ever come in between.
My son was extremely social in school and had many friends. He loved basketball and Indian dancing. I miss him so much. It's only been a year, and yet it feels like it was just yesterday, that's how painful the days can be at times. His smile that he always carried is my everyday memory of him.

I am so sorry for your loss. My mom's best friend's boyfriend was drinking and driving with a passenger and crashed in to a tree. The passenger died and the driver was seriously injured. May God be with you. :)

I'm very sorry to hear about your son, he seemed to be a very nice young man. May God be with you and your family. Your story has inspired me to quit drinking and driving, and just not want to drink period. I will keep you in my prayers.
