In memory of Steve K.
Steve K.
My uncle, godfather and best friend. He wasn't your typical junkie. He was a heroin addict who functioned with a job, friends, family and hobbies. He had been clean from his heroin addiction for six months.
On Christmas Eve, he overdosed on cocaine and heroin. Christmas gifts for the whole family were sitting on his kitchen table ready to go. His addiction is something I will carry with me.
I believe that with drug education others will not have to go through the pain that my family and I have experienced. He was a wonderful man and everyday I wake up wishing that he were here to enjoy life with the rest of us.
I love you, Uncle Steve, and miss you every day.
