Working in the drug and alcohol field, it was devastating to lose my niece to a heroin overdose. She left behinda beautiful8-year-old son and a lovely 4-year-old daughter. We often have no problem helping others who ask for help in beating their addiction, but it's different with your own family. You think that you should have seen it sooner or done more to help, but in the end it's the choice they make.There is nothing you can do about it unless they want help. I keep her picture on my wall at work and let the addicts I deal with know that this person is no longer with us and how much I miss her. I hope it makes an impact. I know Meghan wouldn't mind.
