In November 1972 I gave birth to the most precious baby boy. I named him Christian. He was an easy baby and an even better little boy. As he grew his gentle spirit and caring heart were already apparent. Then in November 1999, his 27th birthday, we had a huge celebration. Everybody who knew and cared about him was there. The room was full of flowers and balloons. He had taught himself to play the guitar and his favorite song to play was "Landslide". So the stereo was playing that song a good part of the night. The only problem was that the guest of honor was at the head of the room lying in a casket. Christian died of a heroin overdose in November 1999, in the bathroom of a residential rehabilitation center. He had been trying for two years to be free of heroin and now he finally is.
