In memory of Kristen Pfaff

Created by Family Of Kristen Pfaff

Kristen Pfaff

My daughter was beautiful, talented, and a joy to all who knew her. She inspired me with her life, and through her tragic death to a heroin overdose. She was a classical pianist, and cellist, and taught herself to play bass guitar, going on to become a famous guitarist with the band Hole, led by Courtney Love.
She died in the summer of 1994, at the age of 27, her life cut short by the insidious drug that has taken so many of our young ones' lives, and destroyed families and loved ones.
My mission to speak out against drug abuse has given me many stages, including school auditoriums, church platforms, and many others. My goal is to continue my daughter's zest for life, by encouraging young ones to live, to be aware of consequences of their choices, and to teach them that they are not invincible.

The way Kristen played bass immediately captured my soul when I heard the album "Live Through This" years ago. There was something so hauntingly beautiful in her playing. It has, even after all these years, inspired me to keep playing the bass and making music no matter what the circumstance. She left too soon...
