In memory of Brandon Sexton

Created by Family Of Brandon Sexton

Brandon Sexton

The last time I saw my son was at dinner to celebrate his 28th birthday. Within the week my world would change and it would never be "normal" again. A month after Brandon's death I found out that I was a grandmother to a 3 year oldgirl. A daughter that Brandon would never meet and probably never know about. She has been a special gift to our family!I visit Brandon's resting place just about every day. I miss his mischievious smile. I miss his hugs.I pray for all those suffering from the disease of addiction.I pray for all the lost lives and the families left behind. I am involved in a grief group for those who have lost loved ones to the disease of addiction. Unfortunately, there are a lot of us out there. Some never finding others who share in their grief. I work to try to get legislation passed in my home state of Ohio to give families an option to get help for their loved ones over the age of 18. There is currently legislation in Kentucky (Casey's Law). Indiana is also working on a law (The Jennifer Act). In Ohio, Senate Bill 117 has just been introduced. It is my hope that states will adopt legislation that will help family members help their loved ones who are afflicted with this disease.
Thanks to all those who continue to remember Brandon!
