In memory of Joseph Niz
Joseph Niz
Ten years ago I made a promise to God and to Joseph that I would stay true to his memory and remain strong in my faith. I made a promisethat the painand agony of his loss would one day be tolerable, and that I would care for his children in the best way I knew how. I am soblessed today that I canfor once in my life remember him and feel at peace that we are allwhere we need to be.
I want today to be a dayof rejoice and celebration. A day when thatwe can now look back at as a day whenone person made a difference.
Ten years a decade has gone by and Joseph's children are now 11, 13 and 16. On Sept. 11th, 1997, Joseph Niz left behind an 18month old son Joseph, a three year old daughter Serafina, a six year old daughter Porsha and 28 year old wife Selene. His life was taken short when he was shot multiple times in the head on a Tuesday evening as he went to get a fix of dope. This day is a day that our lives changed forever and it has been so difficult to put into words until now.
