In memory of Pedro

Created by Santos El-Hopper

Pedro El-Hopper

Pedro was a tender young man who was struck down in the prime of his youth by drugs. He started by huffing paint, and airplane glue. He couldn't control his inner demons. Next he moved on to the gateway drug marijauna. It was only a matter of time before he started injecting heroin. He lost 80 lbs by not eating, and just abusing himself. The last time I saw him alive, he said he was going to get clean, reconnect with his boy scout friends, and get a degree in Astrophysics. I hoped for the best, but when I had to identify his body the next day, I knew it was just another one of his pipedreams. I dont know what I could have done to help him. We spent $20,000 on rehabs and hypnotists. His funeral alone was $6,000, and my elderly wife and I had to morgage our home. Sometimes its better that he is gone, no longer suffering.
