A journey

A journey

After battling anorexia between the ages 8-13, I found myself in a new struggle with heroine by age 14. I would use until the age of 20. Having my son saved my life, hw taught me there is something to live for after all. I went through many phases of addiction including being arrested, raped, held at gun point down the city of Phiadelphia and watching all my close friends die. Feeling? as though I should give up, I overdosed twice, and nearly had my arm amputated after a bad bag. I lost respect of my family and was then forced to live out of my car when I was just 16. On the streets soon after at 17. I joined a methadone program that took me 11 years to finally part with, but i did. I am now 31, have 3 kids, 11, 4, and 8 months. I am finishing up school where I made the honors society and plan to transfer to a 4 year college within the next year. I have spoken at the clinic I once attended to hopefully give others the hope and the courage to know there is a life beyound what they live and that its worth it. It was not an easy road, or journey, but it has paid off and I feel better then ever. You have to want it, after all why shouldn't you? You deserve it, we all do.
