Had it all...
What I hid from everyone was I'm an alcoholic. I lied, cheated, stole, I blacked out, I'd sleep with other men, I drove drunk with my baby in the car, I put everyone in danger.
I got to the point where I wouldn't listen to anyone who tried to help me. I was "OK" and would "slow it down". Well, I lost the ability to choose and couldn't stop drinking. I started taking Valium so I wouldn't shake. I craved that drink every second. I choose that drink over everything....even my baby.
My husband divorced me, my family supported him, I lost my home and my daughter who was 6mo. old wasn't safe with me. I lost my job, lost my friends, and ended up living with my parents.
By Gods grace and AA I've been sober for 8yrs. I have an amazing life today!! My best friend is my ex husband, our daughter is amazing, I have a great job, and spend time helping women with recovery. I NEVER thought AA would work. I thought I was too good for it!! It saved my life and can save yours too...don't give up. Alcoholism is a disease and there is a solution. AA taught my I wasn't a bad person, I was a sick person who needed to get well....
