My story for changes

My name is samantha and I was on pain killers for a blade issue that. Is normally in older women past50 well I was diagnosed at 19 with it. I was never drawn to pills or any drug and once I got them pain pills I got addicted and needed them to function. And one day a friend came to use my car n left me a bag of heroin for using the car. I never felt the relief of the high I got from it. 8 months later I was homeless lost the love of my life and was not going anywhere. Detox didn't work, I got? messed up. I finally found a clinic that despenced methadone on a daily rutine unil?you choose to get clean I was clean right away and 2 years later I have earned the right to only go one day a week I got pregnant while on methadone even though that was not the fist thing I would pick to ever have a child on I did it because it is better than pills or heroin. I was shooting up by it me I ended up at the clinic?and I was scared for my son that I had something. I took all the test they have out there and we were free of anything. My husband which was my boyfriend thru all of this is now my husband and father of our son. We had a 8 lb 13 oz baby he went thru withdrawal n they helped with that and he came home 3 weeks later our beautiful healthy boy. I am still healthy and clean and have never felt better . I am 6 weeks away from leaving the clinic I chose to taper from the methadone and move on. I know that it is going to be a daily struggle to stay clean but I am prepared and have a awesome support system I will always be an addict but I will be a clean mom?and wife for the rest of my life.
