Prescription for Addiction: A Girl Scout Gold Award Project

Prescription for Addiction: A Girl Scout Gold Award Project

I recently took on the endevour of completing my Girl Scout Gold Award. For my project I created a series of public service announcements and one lengthy educational video to aid parents in need who are researching the dangers and consequences of prescription drug addiction. Through my journey I interviewed two families who lost their sons to addiction and a recovering female addict. I was inspired to bring to light the horrid path that prescription drugs can take a person down due to my eldest brothers fight with addiction. He began with prescription drugs at the age of fifteen and is now twenty three, living on the streets of Arizona as a heroin addict. In honor of my family's struggle to save him and mend the sores that addiction causes I created Prescription for Addiction: A Girl Scout Gold Award Project.
