That day that changed my life forever.

That day that changed my life forever.

My name is Jessii. I am an average 20 year old young woman. I now live a happy and joyful life but just 6 months ago I was homeless and addicted to methamphetamine. I stared out with weed when I was still living with my mom. There was some complications between my mom and I and I ended up getting kicked?out of her house. I found myself alone with nowhere to go. When I met someone who introduced me to meth I lost a lot of weight in a short amount of time. I almost overdosed several times. One day I had had enough of the wayward living, so I went to MECCA (a drug treatment facility)- I was there for a while. I now live in a beautiful house and have 180 days sober. And I am the happiest I have ever been because I am sober.

This Story of Hope was created in celebration of recovery and to let families know that there are pathways to hope and healing. The Partnership for Drug-Free Kids is the only nonprofit organization dedicated to helping families who are struggling with their son or daughter's substance use. Please consider sharing this page so that families know where to turn to for help, and that there is always hope.
