My last time out

Im 23 years old, and an alcoholic/addict. My last time out was the worst yet. I quit going to work and lost my job because i couldn't stop drinking and using. I was out one night drinking when i met a guy who said he had some blow. I had 30 bucks left, and used that to buy what i was told was coke. It ended up being coke mixed with heroin. I went home and snorted it all in one line. My friend was with me, and i thank god she doesn't drink or use because she called the paramedics for me and gave me CPR until they got to my house. I woke up on my floor surounded by paramedics. I died! I stopped breathing and my heart stoped beating. The gave me a shot of narcarac, and used a difibulator to get my heart back beating. I spent the next week in a mental ward. They thought i tried to kill myself. That was 12/12/12. Ive been going to AA meetings ever since. By the grace of god im clean to this day.

I am touched by your story as your situation hits close to home for me. My brother, by the grace of god he is still with me, lived a similar life as yourself. He drank a 30 pack of beer everyday for 10 years. He nearly died 2 years ago by taking his own life, thankfully his neighbor heard him screaming and called the police. He was hospitalized for awhile and has been sober ever since. I truly thought that I would lose my brother sooner rather than later but he pulled himself out. He is my best friend and I would not know how to live without him. So please keep up your hard work and know that there are people out here who understand what you are going through and that do care about you.

Man dude, you're still young. You should quit while you still have a chance to have a good life. I stayed out there for 25 years. I got clean six years ago but I'm still paying the price for my years as an addict. Life without drugs is the only way to find happiness. You have a great start with your clean time. Resist going back to the misery. It only gets lots worse if you go back. Choose freedom.
