In memory of Luke Jarvis
Luke Jarvis
Thank you for visiting this memorial.
Today, June 17, 2020 is the 1 year anniversary of Luke's passing. In memory of my son I have decided to support Partnership for Drug Free Kids with an annual donation, and volunteer time.
Addiction is frequently stigmatized and often there is little sympathy for those who have overdosed. People often believe it's a simple choice to stop medicating. The reality of addition and mental illness is so much more complex and difficult. And in my experience, there is far too little understanding and too few resources for those who are struggling.
Luke was so unique, so special, one-of-a kind. He was so full of love and kindness and creativity. Losing him is a loss beyond measure.
I can't change the past. But I can search for meaning. I can hope, in the coming years, to turn my grief into action and perhaps prevent another family from losing their precious child.
Partners for Hope raise critical funds on behalf Partnership to End Addiction – the nation’s leading organization dedicated to addiction prevention, treatment and recovery. Every dollar raised on behalf of the Partnership* will help ensure free, personalized family support resources, including our national helpline, peer-to-peer parent coaching, customized online tools and community education programs, can reach those who need them most. Please consider donating to this fundraiser and sharing this page.
