Ed and I are running a half marathon this Sunday to raise money for this cause. By way of background, I was the kind of kid who thought that running a mile as part of the president's physical fitness challenge was child abuse. I was able to avoid running for the next 15 years or so till Ed and I married and were friends with NYC marathoners. I reluctantly trudged through Prospect Park while my running mates left me in the dust. Happily we were transferred to NJ, leaving running behind.
Then, just when I thought it was over, a friend needed a running mate at the YMCA. I decided that I would sign up for the local Turkey Trot to have a goal and raise money for the Food Pantry. That was 3 years ago and I haven't entered another race until now.
We are both excited about the race - it's in Seaside Park so it's flat with hopefully good weather and low head winds.
We are both equally excited about this cause. The Partnership (you probably remember the TV ad of This is Your Brain on Drugs with an egg frying in a pan) does great work to help parents navigate the treatment find quality resources and provide emotional support.
We'd greatly appreciate any contribution!
Thanks so much,
Pat and Ed
