Welcome to My Fundraiser

Pat Aussem

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for the Partnership for Drug-Free Kids. It's a wonderful non-profit that helps families find guidance and hope for a son or daughter struggling with a substance use disorder.

Ed and I are running a half marathon this Sunday to raise money for this cause. By way of background, I was the kind of kid who thought that running a mile as part of the president's physical fitness challenge was child abuse. I was able to avoid running for the next 15 years or so till Ed and I married and were friends with NYC marathoners. I reluctantly trudged through Prospect Park while my running mates left me in the dust. Happily we were transferred to NJ, leaving running behind.

Then, just when I thought it was over, a friend needed a running mate at the YMCA. I decided that I would sign up for the local Turkey Trot to have a goal and raise money for the Food Pantry. That was 3 years ago and I haven't entered another race until now.

We are both excited about the race - it's in Seaside Park so it's flat with hopefully good weather and low head winds.

We are both equally excited about this cause. The Partnership (you probably remember the TV ad of This is Your Brain on Drugs with an egg frying in a pan) does great work to help parents navigate the treatment find quality resources and provide emotional support.

We'd greatly appreciate any contribution!
Thanks so much,
Pat and Ed

Partners for Hope raise critical funds on behalf of the Partnership for Drug-Free Kids, the only nonprofit organization dedicated to helping families struggling with their son or daughter's substance use. Every dollar raised on behalf of the Partnership will ensure that their free resources, like their national network of Parent Coaches, Parent Helpline counselors, free online tools and community education programs, can get to those who need them most. Please consider donating to this fundraiser and sharing this page. Together, we will provide hope and healing for families.
