I can think of no better way to honor my husband, Tom Hedrick, on the occasion of his birthday, than to raise funds for the mission that engaged his mind and heart for almost half of his life - helping families impacted by addiction. This is a commemoration to Tom for his endless commitment to engage parents, co-workers, mental health professionals, and even politicians to alleviate the massive personal destruction caused by drug addiction. This is a small but very heartfelt attempt to help the Partnership to End Addiction continue their amazing work. Tom helped found the Partnership for a Drug-Free America (which has evolved to become the Partnership to End Addiction) in 1986 and was instrumental in the organization producing the nation’s largest single issue public service campaign. He was also the driving force behind the decision to begin serving families directly with professional support from Dr. Jeff Foote and the Center for Motivation and Change, and the creation of the Partnership’s Family Services Program. Millions of Americans have learned that there is hope and help for substance use because of Tom’s thought leadership and passionate commitment to the goals of the Partnership to End Addiction.
